🚦 Road Safety Week at St. Conor's!
We were delighted to welcome Rachel from the local PSNI, who shared vital tips for staying safe all year round. She showed us reflective clothing and strips that glow when light shines on them, reminding us why fluorescent jackets or vests are so important—whether cycling, walking home, or out on the farm.
Rachel also explained car safety:
✅ Always wear your seatbelt correctly.
✅ Sit in the back on a booster seat until you’re 135cm tall or 11 years old (by law!).
Linking her talk to the Year 4 novel, The Hodgeheg, Rachel talked us through the Green Cross Code—Stop, Look, Listen—and why we should use zebra crossings, traffic lights, islands, and lollipop patrols. She even reminded us about wearing helmets and riding bikes safely.
A big thank you to Rachel for helping us learn how to stay safe on the roads! 🌟
We also want to thank Andy from Network Auto Store, Omagh who kindly donated reflective bands and a reflective tie-bag for all pupils in St. Conor' on this, Road Safety Week. 🌟
