The Year 1 children have had great fun reinforcing their Literacy and Numeracy skills during Halloween themed Play Based Learning. We have been busy counting and making sets, playing number games, creating patterns, writing labels and making books, browsing through the Spooky books and listening to stories and songs. We have extended our language and enjoyed cooperative play in the Role Play Spooky Corner. The Spiders web in the tuff spot helped us to develop our fine motor skills. We also had the opportunity to do some Science- we investigated how we can change materials when we made delicious chocolate apples. We created some wonderful Halloween pictures on the Interactive whiteboard.
