Omagh CBS Blitz & Coaching Day for P6
Yesterday, eighteen of our P6 boys travelled to Coolnagard Sports Field to take part in the Omagh CBS Blitz & Coaching Day for P6. With fantastic weather and a feast of football on display, it was a memorable day for all involved. The pupils gave it their all and the atmosphere was fantastic from start to finish.
Both of our teams performed brilliantly, once again proving themselves to be outstanding representatives of St. Conor’s. Their superb skills, tireless effort and exemplary sporting behaviour were evident throughout the tournament.
The first boys’ team played superbly, winning four out of their five group matches and qualifying as group winners alongside St. Teresa’s, Loughmacrory and St. Colmcille’s, Carrickmore. In the playoff stage, they continued to impress with strong performances but were narrowly edged out by their opponents.
The second boys’ team also displayed great skill, heart and determination. Despite facing tough opposition in a very competitive group, they secured a well-earned win and qualified for the fifth-place playoff. After a narrow loss in their first playoff match, the boys regrouped brilliantly to win their final game, ending the day on a high note.
Both teams should be incredibly proud of their efforts and how they conducted themselves against such high-quality opposition.
A huge thank you to Omagh CBS for orchestrating such an enjoyable and well-organised tournament. We’re also very grateful to the volunteers who refereed and to all the coaches—especially current Tyrone stars Callum Daly, Eoin McElholm, and Ruairí McCullagh—whose time, encouragement and enthusiasm helped make the day such a positive and memorable experience for all the boys.
