Our Primary 4 and Primary 5 pupils had a fantastic visit from Kerri and Hannah from the Dairy Council! They explored the importance of a healthy, balanced lifestyle and learned why good nutrition matters.
The children discovered the 5 food groups, explored the food wheel, and discussed how food helps us grow, gives us energy, and keeps us feeling our best. They also enjoyed sorting foods into groups and taking part in thumbs up/down activities to test their knowledge.
A special focus was on dairy foods—learning how calcium and protein help build strong bones and healthy teeth. The “Dairy Delight” game had everyone listening, moving, and having fun!
We also talked about balancing food and fitness, with pupils sharing their favourite activities and learning the importance of at least 60 minutes of exercise each day.
It was a fun-filled morning of music, movement, and learning. A big thank you to Kerri and Hannah for such an engaging and informative visit!
