Our School Councillors were invited to a meeting with the Chairperson of the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor McElduff. We received a very warm welcome with lovely refreshments on arrival. Following our meet and greet, the pupils were taken to the Chamber Room where Councillor McElduff introduced himself and his colleagues. The pupils watched a short video about what our council does and then the floor was opened up for questions! Lots of probing questions were put forward to Councilor McElduff! It was a very informative session and our pupils got a real insight into how and where important decisions about our community and environment are made. Hopefully it was an inspiring visit for our School Councillors and who knows, maybe some day, one of them might be Chairperson of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council!
