Recently, our Primary 6 and 7 pupils took part in a highly informative and engaging Zoom session delivered by Cancer Focus NI as part of the Smokebusters programme. This important initiative aims to empower young people with the knowledge and skills to stay smoke and vape-free for life!
During the session, the children explored the sneaky tactics tobacco companies use to attract young people to smoking and vaping. They also learned about the addictive nature of nicotine and its harmful effects on the body.
Our pupils were introduced to a range of practical strategies, such as distraction and avoidance techniques, to help them maintain self-control, resist peer pressure and make healthier lifestyle choices.
It was a fantastic learning experience that left our pupils feeling informed, confident, and motivated to make positive decisions for their future health!
