Snail Races!

Recently we have found lots of snails!
Each day the children had a bug hunt and placed the bugs into the tub for everyone to see.
It was incredible to find so many snails! The children were so excited.
We were able to discuss the swirl pattern on the shell and try to draw it.
We talked about the parts of the snail, the eyes and the feelers.
We counted the snails ( one day we found 11 !!) and decided which was the biggest and the smallest.
We saw the slime when the snail was on black paper.
We even had a snail race. It's amazing how fast they can move.
Why not have a bug hunt at home?
