We were delighted to welcome a group of Ulster Orchestra musicians to our school last week, when they delivered a fantastic workshop for all our Key Stage Two pupils. The children were treated to some wonderful performances from Nigel, James and Richard on the violin, viola and trombone. They enjoyed the opportunity to gain some understanding around how sound is made, the workings behind orchestral instruments and more about the “families” of an orchestra. The musicians gave the children the opportunity to ask them some questions. The boys and girls were interested in how often the musicians practised when they were younger and where in the world they had performed. It was exciting to feel the buzz and energy in the hall as the children experienced an uplifting afternoon of music. Thanks to the Ulster Orchestra!
