Numeracy
Mental Maths
• Revise quick recall of facts up to 15. Continue to ask facts using language of addition and subtraction e.g. 2 and ?? makes 11
• Relate the number facts to real life examples
• Sequence numbers within 20.
• Count on/back within 50. Ask questions like number before/after/between.
• Count up in2s to 20 and 10s to 100.

Number stories 16-20 (see the 1st Home school Pack)
• Complete number story for 16.
• Make the link with subtraction by recording fact families for 3 numbers e.g. write the number facts for 7,16,9
7+9=16 9+7=16
16-9=7 16-7=9
• Record your findings in your exercise book.
• Use materials to help you with your number facts. Think of part, part, whole. (see resources in this folder for template)
• Use the number line to add on and take away within 16.

Subtraction within 20 workbook
• Practically subtract an amount form a set within 20.
• Complete some activites from the workbook.

Measure Shape and Data Handling Workbook (see the 1st Home school) Pack
We will look at the area on Data Handling. Find the section on sorting. (pp34-36)
• Complete the activities for recording and interpreting data on bar charts.

First Mental Arithmetic Book – complete 1 page per day.

• Mathletics Please log on this week and see if you can complete some of the number, money or data handling activities. Maybe earn yourself a Bronze certificate!

Literacy

Reading
Please log on to your MYon account where you can choose from loads of books to read. Try to read 2 books this week or read each day for 15 minutes.

Writing
• Write about the Picture Workbook. Choose 2 pages this week.
Remember to: - talk to your child about each picture.
Write a few creative sentences about the picture.
Let the children have a go sounding out or using word knowledge to record their work.
Use the word bank as support.

Tricky words
• Keep practising quick word recall using Tricky Words worksheets from 1st Home/school pack.
• Tricky words this week are saw and put – see Tricky Word Book Summer 1
• Use the appropriate pages in your workbook. Write sentences for the words.

Phonics
This week’s sound is ck
Use your phonics workbook to sound out and build words with the ck sound.
Write sentences for some of the words on the blank pages in the book.
Call out some words for your child to record using the ck sound.

Talk about the People who help us in our community and the jobs they do.
Complete the list of the People who help us in our community- use the word mat to help you.
Complete the pages on the jobs people do.
