Create your own Palms for Palm Sunday at Home
April 3, 2020 by Therese Ferry
On Palm Sunday we are reminded that Jesus was treated like a king when he rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. People waved palms, laid them at his feet and sang his praise.
We normally bring palms to Mass to wave as part of the procession and to have blessed to bring to our homes. As we are not able to do that this year, we would encourage you to make your palms at home and we would like you to place them on your door.
Palm Sunday-Make your own Palms
In the Gospel of Matthew 21:1–9) we read that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. He was greeted by people waving palms and laying them at his feet. They shouted,
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.”
Palm Sunday marks the start of Holy week. We hold our palms in our hands, as this year we watch Mass on the T.V. or through the internet or listen to it on the radio. The palms will be blessed during Mass.
